Gas prices in New Mexico are up $0.036 cents per gallon from a month ago and are now $1.11 higher than this time last year, according to GasPrices.AAA.com.
New Mexico is still better off than most state and is currently paying 4.4 cents less per gallon than the national average, but that margin continues to shrink. New Mexico gas prices averaged 5.6 cents less per gallon than the national average last week, 7 cents the week prior, and 10 cents under the national average three weeks ago.
